Youth Participation EuroMAB 2024
The voice of young people and their commitment will be decisive when it comes to exploring and implementing sustainable futures. The MAB programme, which aims to implement sustainable development through and with local people, offers many opportunities to involve young people in shaping the future. Their specific role is also recognised in different biosphere reserve framework documents, including the Lima Action Plan (2015 - 2025), which explicitly refers to consideration of young people in equitable and participatory planning for sustainable development in biosphere reserves.
In this sense, EuroMAB 2024 wants to involve young people in the conference in a holistic way. On the one hand, we would like to enable regular participation, on the other hand, we would also like to give young participants the opportunity to exchange ideas in a separate setting before the conference. A group of young people is involved in the planning of the conference at both national and international level and is currently working with the organisers on a youth workshop.
